Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.
– Confucius (551~479 B.C.)

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
– Leonardo Da Vinci (1452~1519 A.D.)

I keep realizing(D’OH!) that we learn from history that we never learn anything, we still keep making our life more and more complicated.

Doh

Ofyour company's app course Simplicity can also apply to web applications, but you may noticed that most of famous websites are becoming complicated while most of new web 2.0 apps/services are lean and clean and focus. They tend to add more features for power users try to keep them using it, but on the other hand they also make it more difficult for new users and customers. I believe if we take a survey, most web new user never use those apps/services again after couple of weeks.

For example, Microsoft’s new Live Mail has prettier interfaces and integrated many social services with MSN Messenger, but I closed my Live Spaces recently and did not update my Live Photos since last year and their new Live Mail is slow. On the other hand, Gmail add a lot more features recently, but I am still happy to use it.

Please don’t forget, our life has never been so complicated after Internet Revolution! So build your apps/services as simple as possible for all new Internet users, it is better if your app can really make their normal life simpler.
